Is asset mgr liable for roof repair that leaks?

I bought a house at auction. The flat roof over an addition had been leaking for an undetermined amount of time. The house went to auction and the reserve was not met. Prior to the second attempt to auction the property, the asset manager repaired the roof and the ceiling. The listing realtor conveyed this to me and I bid accordingly at the second auction. The first rain after purchase let a lot of water into the addition so I (my brother) had a roofer out. Roofer said not only that the reroof was improperly done but that it should have been permitted by the city...but it could not have been inspected and passed as it was not done right, the seams were wrong. I bought "as is" but I was told about the newly done roof work... I live 500 miles away. Is there any recourse?...not sure if the asset preservation team is a small local one or a national chain.

Absolutely none, strictly as is where is....you'll find in your auction/contract there are no representations made as to condition whatsoever.
