Property occupied at time of sale.

Hello,

I'm trying to do my research before beginning to flip properties in the NYC area. The question that came to mind was as follows:

If I win the foreclosure auction, will the property be occupied by the former owners or their tenants?

If it is occupied by the former owner or their tenants, what is the process to evict them and how long does it take?

Please keep in mind that I'm referring to process in the 5 boroughs.

Thanks in advance!
