Rights of purchaser during redemption period

I bought a house in NM via a public auction but wasn't able to buy a redemption right since the owner moved out of the house already. Court approved the sale on 4/13/17 and they already sent me the Special master deed (redemption period expires 5/13/2017). On 5/9/17, there was a company filed for petition of redemption. Certificate of redemption has not been issued. My question is who is the legal owner of the house during this time? What are the rights of the purchaser during the redemption period? Who is responsible if there is any damage to the house or if anybody gets injured in the property and sue the owner of the house during the time from now until the certificate of redemption is issued? Thank you for your input.
