Reverse Mortgage payout

Hello Everyone,

I am new to bigger pockets and fairly new to RE Investing. I found a seller that has inherited her mother's home which has a reverse mortgage. The bank is asking her 57k to pay off the balance or to sell the house. After doing my research I came to found out that the house is worth around 57k as is. My question is...  can I negotiate a lower pay out with the bank? My plan is to get the seller some cash in her pocket, help the bank get rid of the house , and I would like to get the house low enough for me to do some cosmetic work and make a profit.

Any input will be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Jaime ._
