Finding out if a property has a Lien on it.

I am going to my first auction to observe this week but I wanted to do some research on properties being auctioned that day before I got there. Are there any public searches you can do to find out if there is a liens on a property? What are the best ways to find out if properties have liens on them? Thanks!

@Beau Miller- I use Fidelity's "My Passport" thing most of the time. They gave me only 25 lookups/month for the longest time, then I opened 22 escrows in one day and they upped it to 500/month lol.

So I always look up random things like Ben Bernanke's house and the White House...

Haven't title/escrow companies always thrown access at you and asked you to use their title report tool? I've never actually asked, but assumed realtors had the same stuff thrown at them in this regard as me.
