Is an REO worth it?

As a California home loans professional, I do the best possible job for my clients. I've had many of my past borrowers as well as prospects call me, and ask my opinion of REO property. I've been suggesting to them that the process is rather long, and as long as they are willing to spend about 90 days going through the process, after they make an offer, that they can get a good deal.

From the standpoint of my time, I'm not sure if I want to work in this type of time consuming environment. How do you feel? Are dealing with REO's worth it?
