Landlord didn't pay mortgage, now I want to buy the house

I've been renting for 2.5  years. Recently discovered the landlord has been pocketing my rent. My lease was up a while ago and I was month I month up until June when I realized the mortgage wasn't being paid. I found out because the bank kept coming by...but the landlord kept say in everything was cool.... Since I was no longer in a lease, I decided to move out. The landlord disappears. I go by the house...no one has even been there for 3 months. I want to

1.figure out his I can find the status of the mortgage to determine if its in foreclosure or not.

2. I'd like to figure out if there is a way to find out the balance.

3. I'd like to buy the house with hard money because I simply won't be approved conventional

4. I'd like to fix I up and flip it...take the profit and put it as a down payment on a home for me and my kids...seeing as how this entire situation left us homeless.

I don't have Money, I simply have a will and hope that a pro out there has some suggestion.

I realize that I would have to pay for appraisal and maybe down payment...but maybe someone knows a HML that offers 100% financing for good deals...maybe someone wants to get in on this deal.

Very nice house 3/2/2 built in early 2000s
