Bank Doesn't Know it Owns the House?

While driving through a neighborhood looking for seemingly abandoned homes, my wife and I found one we thought we should check on. According to the county's property records, the title is held by American Home Mortgage (AHM) as a result of foreclosure over 1 year ago (prior to the company filing for bankruptcy protection). Our realtor says it hasn't been listed for sale since that time.

I called AHM and was told to check for the property at (a website). It wasn't there. AHM also has a website where they list all of their REO properties (another website), and it was not listed. It appears that AHM is unaware that they own this house, especially considering that it has been sitting for so long with no activity.

Any thoughts on where I should go from here?
