Short sale purchase

I'm in contact with a person who is purchasing a property from a bank in a short sale. If I decide to purchase this property from them, how should I go about the sale? I'v bought and sold three homes over the last 25 years, but they have all been conventional deals through realtors with closings conducted at title companies. I would GREATLY appreciate any, or all advice that you can give me as I have never been involved in this type of transaction, and I have to move quickly on this.
TIA
