Will a quit claim stop a tax deed foreclosure auction?

Bruna Guanaes

Hello!

FLORIDA - I’m interested in a property that is scheduled for a tax deed auction. This property has a quit claim deed and 2 months ago was transferred to a different owner (so now the auction website lists the original owner and the property appraiser lists the new owner). The taxes have NOT been paid so far and the property is still listed in the auction calendar. If I purchase this property from the auction, is it a valid sale? Or does the quit claim deed stop the auction (even though the taxes still have not been paid).

I’d appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks in advance!

@Bruna Guanaes

It doesn’t matter who owns property - if taxes were not paid it will go to auction

Owner can transfer 100x and makes zero difference.

Sale won’t stop
