Need help finding a second lien holder

Account Closed
Posted

Hello all. My client is selling her home but having challenges finding a 2nd lien holder who popped up during the closing attorney’s title search. She thought the 2nd lien was stripped during a chapter 13 but was not because the 13th was converted into a chapter 7.
The original 2nd mortgage  lender was Argent mortgage, (lien holder on title search) who went out of business in 2006. Since then this 2nd mortgage has been transferred a dozen times, all to lenders or debt collection companies like Solace Financial who are all out of business. Is there any way she can find out who holds this lien? Please help. The closing attorney is basically telling her she can to get a lien release and do her research to find out who has it now.
