Would foreclosures be a good source to find deals

So I have been starting to prospect deals and every time I try to go to websites for foreclosures they always want me to pay for it. So do I go to a relator? a bank?  Also what is some good ways to funnel deals that you guys have used? This newbie is interested on hearing what works for you. I appreciate all the info anybody gives me.
