Tax Lien Interest-Cook County
After purchasing a tax lien certificate, when will you be required to starting paying taxes on the property going forward?
What happens to the taxes/funds if the land or property was purchased at a previous sale, but the previous rent never redeemed the property?
Lastly, how can you search cases for property owners that have cases on file regarding the property?

So, in Cook County when you purchase a tax lien certificate the person who is behind on taxes has two years to pay taxes and redeem their property.
I decided not to go this route because you can’t rehab until the property is deeded to you (if that’s a word).
Lastly, you can find properties that are behind on taxes on the Cook County treasurer’s website and search Annual Tax Sale or Scavenger Sale.
