Im having a issue with a place where i bought and now deciding to rent out. but before i can rent it my account has to be clear and part of that is to pay them1 years worth of hoa which is going to be about 3,000. They say that i will get the money back once i sell the place. The problem is that i plan on holding on to this property for at least 10 years. I also looked in their condo laws and saw no mention of this law. This a Florida hoa by the way and i know there has been recent changes within FL condo and HOA laws but not sure if it affects this matter. What is your suggestion, should i rent without their approval, what would be the consequence if i do, can they evict. I never heard any condominiums doing this ever, I just dont think its fair. My account is clear except for the 1 year in advance hoa payment requirement. What are my options here?
