Landlord wants to terminate my lease early
I’m in California. I’ve been leasing my office space for over 10 years and still have 3 years remaining on my lease. The property was recently sold and plans are in place to tear it down to build low income housing. The landlords sent me a letter stating that they will notify me 90 days in advance when they need me to move.
My question is: what are my rights? Tenant improvements usually run about 50k for my profession. In addition, 90 days is not enough time to find a new place, do the necessary tenant improvements and notify clients of the move. I will speak to a attorney soon but wanted to get some advice on here from others who may have been through the same dilemma.

Typically, They can’t terminate your lease without buying you out. If they want you to leave early, they will need to pay you for that privilege.
Although, your lease may have some early termination provisions in it. It is best to consult with an attorney to best understand your rights and obligations under the lease so you know how to negotiate
