Where to start finding Investors?

I currently work as a CEO of commercial lending company, but we're only lender correspondents. I graduated from Temple with a Bachelors in Chemistry and Biology. I started working in commercial real estate 5 years ago and love it. I've been successful, and am looking to expand a company I started a couple months ago into DIRECT lenders. I prefer to be hard money lenders as well. I've posted forums places, and got people who respond asking for 15000 up front, and 5 million dollars after I get the investors, but being in the commercial real estate business, and knowing the type that is out there, I just don't trust everyone. I'd really like to find my own investors as well, but my question is, where the heck do I start? What's the best way to get an investor for a lending company? I have everything else, title company, lawyer, business, employees, now I just need to go a head and find the investors. Any input would be great! Thanks,
