Anyone ever turn a motel into appts?

Just curious if anyone has ever bought an old motel and turned it into efficiency apartments or done anything else with them. Rent is pretty high here and a lot of people seem to have a hard time finding somethig affordable AND decent. I have some ideas about this and would love to discuss possibilities!

@Tina S., I suggest looking into Brian Murray's interview with BP's podcast 126 and 212. However, I personally have not moved into transitioning buildings. I hope this helps, good luck!
