HUD Loans & Market Rent
It's been my experience that HUD properties are required to maintain a ridiculous high standard of maintenance. If your property doesn't meet those standards then they really get into you. Not only is the maintenance hight but the paperwork is as well. These issues almost make HUD properties not worth it.
However, I just learned that there is a HUD loan program that doesn't require affordable housing. These properties can actually market rent units. My question is, are HUD market rent properties subject to the same standard? ie Will they be as much of a pain in the butt as HUD affordable housing? I'd like anyone to share their experience with HUD market rent properties.
