Commercial Lease Credit Score

Hello BP community,

I am a newbie to BP and wanted to introduce myself with a question regarding minimum credit scores for commercial leasing. I own some retail space and wondered what the minimum credit score requirement should be for prospective new tenants. The property is located in a low income part of town (not the best area but not the worst either) and I tend to get applicants that have low credit scores. So what would be the recommended credit score range? Any recommendations or information is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

@Greg Shell , honestly I wouldn't concern myself with that. I would tack the responsibility on a commercial property management company(PM). If the PM messes up on getting a qualified tenant, they should be the ones eating the cost of finding a quality tenant. Plus, applicants are emotional and at times desperate it wouldn't take much for them to spin your reason for not accepting their applications and then finding yourself needing an attorney. Research a reputable PM and let them deal with it freeing you to find other opportunities. All the best! Welcome to BP glad you joined us!
