Charging yourself rent??

Do I charge myself rent for storage?   I am storing equipment in a 40 X 110 foot building on my mixed use commercial property.  The building would rent for around $1,500/ month.  Do I need to write myself a rent check every month to prove income from the property for future refinancing purposes? 

I plan to refinance the property in a couple years and what to be able to prove positive income stream
