How did they know about Family Dollar?

I noticed as I was looking through local commercial listings over the last few weeks that many of them were Family Dollar stores. Today, the announcement was made that they are closing 370 stores! How did the owners of these shopping centers know beforehand that Family Dollar was having financial problems?
