Meter stack shortage

Posted

I have a 15k sf warehouse new build that just got finished. I have it 75% leased. I am missing out on 18k NOI per month because I cant get U&O's. There is a major backorder of meter stacks going on Nationwide. My warehouse is now just sitting unable to bring in any NOI because we dont have power. Can't really do much is my building doesn't have power. So, now just have to wait. Supplier has the order in que for at least 5 months now. Anyone who wants to get into developing/building, this is the kind of stuff that will eat your lunch. Better have enough stacked in the bank to cover the note.

Anyone else have project/buildings on hold due to meter stacks or some other big component of your build?

If anyone has any 2&3 meter stacks / 200amp for 1200 disconnect / 3 phase…..I will gladly pay a nice price for ‘em.

Meters and Rooftop HVAC units are longest lead time items right now.  They are charging big dollars to get quicker lead times.  However if you shop all the manufacturers you should be able to shorten that lead time.  Those are custom made so not many will be lying around.  However you can always try and find something comparable on ebay which I have done.  Call every electrical supply house and see if anyone has any bad orders that match spec.  Since they are custom special order possibly sitting in a dead special order bin at a supply house in a 200 mile radius.  Good luck
