Real estate listing availability on BP website

Hi all,

New to the site and been looking through and exploring lately. 

After looking at the real estate listings in my area, they all show 2 months, 6 months, 1 year etc. as far as time being for sale. I am guessing these are all off market properties? Also once they are sold does the listing drop off of the real estate listings page? Just don't want to waste time looking at a home that was listed and sold months ago. 

Just a little confusing when it has been on the market for years for some of these to still be available.
