Bills before closing

I am buying my second house in Texas. I got clear to close and closing date is this month. I also own my first house in Texas too. I have to pay down payment of 6K for my roof replacement for my first house. Can I make that 6K payment from my bank since closing is soon. I was advised not to make huge purchases before closing. is the lender going to be aware of this 6K? Is that going to be a problem for closing my second house?
