1031 / syndication question

Eric Nieves
Posted

Hey everyone. I am helping advise a family friend on their next move after they come into about a half mill from a sale that they want to 1031. My question is, does anyone have experience or knowledge as to whether or not you can take cash from a 1031 exchange and put it into a syndicate rather than buying another property outright? Any and all insight is appreciated!

Talk with a QI like @Dave Foster. The first big question is, have they made the sale already?

There are Tenant In Common arrangements in syndications that may be possible, you can Google around to see how that all works. As above, talk with the experts to determine if that is viable for your situation.
