Savings Yield 0%- where to put $ for my next purchase?

I've been struggling with getting 0% yield on my savings account and seeing prices of my potential investments go up at 5-15% over the past year...

Anyone have a good solution as to where I can invest and try to grind out slow conservative returns?  Just looking for something better than cash...
