How Did You Locate Your Best Finders?

I was hoping folks could share how they found their best finders and how they are distributed among builders, wholesalers, brokers, or other lead sources. I like using finders of all sorts and we like to compensate folks well for finding deals with nice spreads; often offering for them to partner if this is attractive to them.

How did you find your best finders?

Regarding brokers I was also wondering how folks have gone about finding the BEST of breed for these folks. My experience has been that ONE great broker is better than 1000 mediocre ones and we'd like to maintain the smallest number of finder relationships possible to get adequate deal flow to minimize churn and noise. Any thoughts? Did you call the major local brokerages and ask for their best folks while demonstrating you're capable of buying in large quantities?
