Huntington Beach CA - need STR clarification, other info

Jim D.
Posted

I'm looking for clarification on whether STRs are allowed in Huntington Beach.  I've read here that they aren't but reading the city's webpage seems to indicate that they may be allowed depending on what "zone" it's in, and some limit on number of STRs per development??  I also see there are tons listed on all the major vacation rental sites.

In short, we're looking for a vacation home to escape the NV heat and enjoy the ocean...but we'd certainly welcome the opportunity to offset some of the cost if we could do short-term rentals.  (would also be open to do a 6-month furnished rental during non-Summer months...any market for this?)

Any other advice regarding Huntington Beach would be greatly appreciated (i.e. is the local market just as hot as everywhere else, other local challenges, investor-friendly agents, etc).
