Closing delay compensation

I am in the process of purchasing my first deal.  We were supposed to close yesterday, Thursday, at 12:30PM but something came up with my credit last Friday that took until this Tuesday to clear up.  We are now scheduled to close next Friday, one week and one day after original closing date. Sellers agent is now asking that I offer $500 compensation to Seller for this inconvenience and added costs.  They are saying they will now need a mobile notary, there are holding costs and seller surrendered two days of work.  Mind you seller hired her moving crew for yesterday (closing day) and emailed a cleanup question to my agent yesterday at 1PM.  I feel like she was not technically out of the house and ready to close on time so I should not be financially responsible for the delay...  Please share your thoughts and experience with closing delays :)  Thanks!
