First time buyers beware of the sellers hoa

Dan Jackson
Posted

My father was a first time buyer at 88 years old the realitor convinced him to buy

So he did, at closing there was one HOA he signed off on for $ 400 annually

No problem, after moving in they hit him with another bill for$ 80 of course we were upset!

Come to find out the seller did not disclose that there were two hoa’s as the lawyer stated after a call to him

He said the information he got was only one hoa

My father really couldn't afford to pay for another hoa it can pay it but every month he was struggling so he stop paying the 80 a month he said he didn't know he to pay now they they are taking him to court to foreclose on his house

My question is since the sellers did not disclose that there were two hoa’s should they be responsible?

Can he legally go after the seller for not disclosing this information?

You really have to be careful out here because in order for them to sell it they had to make it look good so the dropped the price and didn't disclose the two hoa’s

Made you think only one exist to entice you to buy
