High voltage line with step down poll transformer in backyard

We are looking at a house in Bay Area and it has High voltage line with small step down poll transformer in backyard, and it seems every third or froth house has similar poll with transformer. I am wondering how unsafe it is ?
And even if not unsafe, would I have an issue in resell of the house ? Given the current market, I might end up paying premium to buy a house now and might find it difficult to sell it later if market is not so favorable.
