Can I get a USDA Loan two years after an FHA?

Joe Brooks
Posted

I fulfilled my obligation to live in the FHA for one year, then relocated for a better job to an apartment. The apartment is far to small now for me, my wife, and our new baby. I still own and rent out the FHA.

One lender just told me you aren’t allowed to hold a USDA loan and FHA simultaneously. What I’ve read says otherwise. Is she wrong, or is this accurate that I can’t qualify for a USDA Rural Dev Loan while owning other housing?

I would otherwise qualify for the USDA loan.
