Airbnb Louisville Rentals

Has anyone in Louisville, or the Midwest, had success renting a home from a landlord, then airbnb’ing the home out? This is a strategy we are considering but not sure of the legal ramifications of this, as well as the viability of it being a thing in a city where people are migrating out of.

@Jeff Byrne I’ve heard of people doing this. It’s become a bit more difficult in Louisville because of the required Certified Use Permits and increasingly strict policies.

There’s also the issue of most leases having a no sublease clause. But if you can get around that then it could be viable.

I’m considering doing some airbnb’ing in one half of a duplex in new Albany to learn more about it.

If I end up doing that I’ll let you see the numbers & the cost vs the LTR on the other side.
