Does a home have to be your primary residence with an FHA loan?

My husband and I are considering homeschooling our kids and purchasing a home in another state (4 hours away) and being able to split our time between our two residences. Our first home is seller financed and we were considering using the FHA option for the 3.5% down payment on the 2nd home. If we spent 6 months of the year at our first home and then 6 months at the 2nd home would this still qualify us for the FHA loan with the low down payment? If not, is there a certain amount of time we would have to spend at the 2nd home to be able to qualify it as our primary residence?
