Is now even a good time to buy houses in Phoenix?

It seems crazy there. We've been trying to buy a house for a while (just for ourselves) but keep losing out to others. With prices escalating so much I'm not sure if it's still a smart move to buy.

If you're looking for a personal residence, you're in for a fight. Houses that are half-decent are getting way over ask right now. You may need to look at a property that needs some sweat equity. The higher price points have less competition since there are fewer qualified buyers, but it's still tough nonetheless.

What part of town are you looking at?
