Renting a mansion, w/ugly burning pile there, my husband says OK!
It is on an 85 acre horse boarding farm, the house is about 5000 sq. ft, and would rent (when fixed up) for around $4k/mo. It has a horrible "burning pile" used on the "farm", with old furniture, metal, carpeting, wood, etc. that is burned there regularly right in front of the house (20 ft from it) in a huge pile, that is often simmering. I told my husband that you can't rent a mansion out for that price, with that eyesore there. He says, well, they'll have to overlook it. Yes, they can move it to other places on the 85 acres, yes. I said you want curb appeal, and nice pictures to rent it out to an executive and his family, and that won't work having that next to the house. What is your opinions on this?

@Doraine Warner Doraine Warner the bigger problem here is that you are conducting illegal burning on the property. You can't burn carpet or many other things. It is toxic to people who breathe the fumes and it destroys the environment. For the most part, only plant based materials like wood or brush should be burned. Also be aware for agricultural burns that if the width exceeds 20 feet or height or 10 feet high, you need to notify the Ohio EPA. The burn pile should be a thousand feet from an inhabited property.
If you rent the property, you are guaranteed to get complaints and get reported to the state for illegal burning.
