What should I be doing to attain my goal?
Hey Guys,
I am 23 years old and want to purchase a rental property within a year before law school. Besides reading and listening to podcasts, what should I be doing on a weekly basis? What are some
Evaluating properties, networking with people in your area.
Save up. Get your credit score up. Look at areas you're interested in. single family? Multi family? Near school? how many bedrooms/bathrooms? what can you afford?
Devour BP content. Get to so. E real life meetups as they start to happen again - build your network. Build cash reserves however you can. House hack through law school if possible.
I would house hack as well. It's a good intro into buy and hold investing. I agree with others to consume as much info as possible. Build up cash (for down payment and reserves). Talk to some lenders to see where you stand with being able to qualify for a mortgage. Get your finances in order to be able to get pre-approved before making offers.
The best thing you can do is start underwriting deals, know what is a good deal, what is a bad deal. While you are doing that, start building relationships with other investors. Join groups, learn from mentors and pick on their brains. You can also try to mock up a deal as if you were going to present it to an investor.
