Initial conversation with selling agents before selling

Hello,

I am considering selling my only and first home which is a multi family that I have owned for almost five years now as I need to move out of state due to a job change. I am planning to interview few realtors this week and will be picking one of them as my seller’s agent. I haven’t sold any real estate before so I would like to make sure I ask the realtors the right questions therefore I would like to have a script for the interview questions to realtors handy.I will really appreciate if anyone here can help me guide with that. Also I would like to know if there is any homework I can do even before I reach out to someone to see how good a realtor has been

and what is the best place to have access to some historical data about past sales. I really appreciate any your inputs here.

Thanks

Hey Peter,

In Houston, we have the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) where you can review agents purchase and sales history.

I don't have a script but I would look at the agents that have sold properties in your neighborhood, preferably several properties. You can check out their previous listings and see how the listing looks, how they describe the property and the days on market - be weary if several of their listings have high DOM.

Hope that helps!
