Need VA Loan Advice--Please help with any advice

Hello BP:

Right now I am in the process of shopping around for my first home and I stumbled across some questions about VA loans. Now I am not a veteran myself but my grandmother is and I was wondering if I could qualify for the VA loan with my grandmother as the co-signer?

Or would it only be applicable if she just bought the house in her name instead? Additionally she is not planning to live on the premises. Any advice would be amazing on this and also I'm asking my local mortgage brokers and agents too but I would like all the insight I can get about this.

Thank you!
