Advice needed for possible buy

So I am interested in this property built in 1924 seller wants out asap but asking price of 1.1 is abit high but reasonable for the area

with that been said their was a roof damage that was not repaired since hurricane irma in Florida

Today I walked by the house and noticed handyman truck patching possible damages to hide prior to showing the house

Would home inspection be able to identified recent repairs and possible damages beneath them

I suspect the seller is trying to hide something other then the roof damage
