Getting Approved For A VA Loan - Questions

Long story hopefully not so long, my husband is a dentist in the Army and is transitioning out of the military this year. He will be buying a dental practice when he is out from a dentist who is retiring. I have had several banks tell me that there will be issues getting approval as he will be a business owner out of the military and they can't verify his income. I can understand their concern but at the same time, we can't be the only ones leaving the military and opening up a business? Any tips/advice on how we can get this VA loan to work for us? This will be our first time using it and we really want to house hack. Thanks!

Good morning @Hannah Reichert My initial thought is that you will be able to use any disability income he receives toward his income. Alternatively, could you close on the home before exiting the military?
