Has anyone done business with Lief Simon-LiveandInvestOverseas?  How did it go?

I am VERY sorry to hear you lost money on those Thai greenhouses!!  I went to several of the LIOS webinars including that one (those were the highly desirable cucumbers deal where you bought the greenhouse and they held the land correct?).

I was VERY VERY close to buying Spanish almond plots which were "improved" farmland with aquafers, etc.  They had a great spiel about how Spain and California are the almond producers and demand is going up etc etc.  And they had this new factory built (que drone videos).  So I started my research on comps and there are a few vendors out there that do these ag profit sharing agreements but I could find NONE in which investors said things working out great.  More important, I could find NONE on the spanish devloper that had supposedly developed and was well recognized for his work for 14 years.  Well I could find no evidence of such.  I hired my VA to do a deep dive on the Spanish almond CEO as well as Lief Simon and LIOS.  I will tell you it was not an easy google search but she came back with the goods.  She found an expose on Lios supporting an avocado deal and suffice to say, my interest in the Spanish almonds died immediately (or the Thai cucumbers or the Truffles that the owner has found a new way to mass farm!).  Some may say LIOS cant be responsible for the developer but the lack of due diligence was so blatant that nobody should EVER do business with Lief, Kathy, or LIOS!  I have not seen much in terms of ads from them lately, maybe he is finally in jail but last I heard he was in El Cangrejo in Panama City.  It is a small expat world there and couple knew of him and the scams.  Here is a relevant link, again hard to find the dirt so hopefully biggerpockets will rank this in relevant search to save others in the future!

I have not done business with him, but I was seriously considering a few of his investment opportunities. Unfortunately, in doing some due diligence, I uncovered some unsavory reviews (see below) that scared me away.

As I said, I have no personal experience with him.  I just share the below for you to make your own decision.

"Lief Simon and Kathleen Peddicord give advice regarding other countries to invest in. Returns are always suppose to be high. I have invested a total of $285K in... a beach front lot 2016 and beach front condo 2017; both in Brazil. An avocado farm 2016 and condo 2018(both in Panama)and here are the results based on their wonderful advice. Nada. Not a single return on my investment and it is now Jan. 2022. I had to file a lawsuit against the builder in Panama for nefarious behavior and not doing what he said.

The lawsuit started in 2019 and it is still ongoing. No income at all. I just found out the avocado farm is a complete scam, no title after 5.5 years. Excuse after excuse. I found someone on the internet who told me about the avocado farm and he gave me the bad news that there are tons of lawsuits against the company and to count it as a total loss. The Brazilian developer won't give me the title as months and months go by with nothing but excuses. I could go on and on. When you contact live and invest to see if they can help, they are nowhere to be found.

One of the sales people for the Panama real estate told me Lief gets kick backs for every sale that comes from his live and invest folks like me (he claims he does all the due diligence for us to make sure it's a good investment) but he's probably just making a deal with these developers and ends up the winner and we end up the loser. So, my advice...stay in your own country to invest and stay away from places you cannot speak the language and from people you cannot hold accountable. I hope this helps at least one person from losing this kind of money. I beg you to stay away for your own sake."

STAY FAR AWAY FROM HIM. Most of his deals are scams. Over 100 of us lost many millions on his deals, (I lost over $285,000 on the Thailand Greenhouses). Others lost on farm deals, houses, condos, avocado, flower deals and more. Live And Invest Overseas, LIOS, Lief Simon and Kathleen Peddicord cannot be trusted.
