Insulation Cost for 1100 sq ft house

Trying to help my customers. Lot of old homes have no insulation in the walls and barely any or none in the attic. Got a few quotes in the SF Bay Area and they are range in the $8-12k range.  Most suggest blown in insulation in attic and walls, remove old from attic, cut holes in drywall/patch/texture/paint.  Does that seem reasonable?
