Is it good business to have multiple agents/broker in one area?

Good Afternoon BP Family,

I am a newer investor and have an ethics question for you all - is it good business practice to have more than one agent in each market I am investing in? Or is that bad business? I ask because I have a great agent at the moment, but i need more deals, and the first solution that came to mind for this problem is to expand my team of deal-finders. How does everyone feel about this?

Thanks!

Anthony

Will you be able to find agents that are ok with you working with other agents? Absolutely.  Will those agents be any good? Probably not.  A good agent is going to value their own time. They are not going to waste their time on clients that may or may not close a deal.....they are working with people where there is a guaranteed paycheck.  A good agent is interviewing you as much as you are interviewing them. I turn down right around 50% of the people who want to work with me, because I have to place a value on my time and work with closers and people that are a good fit for my business.
