Can I wholesale while working with an RE agent?

Hello BP!

I've been interested in networking with agents to help me find on market deals.  Would an exclusive agency agreement in any way restrict my ability to assign the property to another investor?  Also, what should I do to make sure that the agent is compensated for all of their hardwork if I'm just getting the assignment fee and stepping away.

Very confused and concerned that I might unintentionally put someone in a bad situation.  Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!
