Renegotiations after an appraisal.
Currently we (buyer) are in an agreement with the seller for 247,000 with a 5,000 concession toward a new roof. The current roof is 20 years old and needs replaced soon. The inspectors did not like a lot of things with this roof.
We just got the appraisal for the house back, and the appraiser came in at 242,000. Thats the 5,000 towards the roof in this sellers opinion. We looked at the comps and this house is top of the market and not as updated as others that have sold recently.
We have already sold our house so we were really relying on moving into this one, and there aren't a lot of other options where we want to move. Should we negotiate down or ask for the 5,000 still, at the appraised price?
