Trying to purchase property without the current tenants

Doreen Hall
Posted

Hello-

In these times of Covid restrictions, can a landlord in NYS issue a notice to month to month tenants to vacate property due to sale?

I would like to make an offer on a certain property for sale , but I do not want to inherit the tenants.

Thx for any input.

@Doreen Hall the tenants may be protected by the CDC eviction ban.

Have you considered making an offer on the property subject to it being vacant by close of escrow?  Leave it to the seller to figure out how to negotiate with the tenants to leave.
