Auction.com Occupied: Do not disturb occupants <- Bad Advice?

No one wants to lose their home but many have found it helpful to talk with occupants of properties prior to bidding. If the occupant asks you to leave, you should but otherwise why shouldn't a buyer want to get to know more about the property they will be bidding on?
