Need advise on my next purchase

Hi. I am new to BiggerPockets and I am looking to purchase more income property. I currently have a Triplex and a single-family home in my rental portfolio. I am thinking of purchasing a new home for my family and renting out my current home and add it to my rental portfolio. But, I also keep thinking if I should just wait and scale a bit more before I buy a home for my family. Should I purchase something like a triplex or Sixplex instead of using the downpayment on a new home for my family? It would bring more income in the long run but making the decision is harder than I thought.
