Verified property unoccupied filled with stuff

Hi,

I finally got possession of a house I bought at a tax auction. The lawyer for the town verified with the previous owner that he was letting house go. His mailing address was listed as a different address on town documents. House is filled in every room with items that look like they haven't been touched in years. Neighbor said house has been abandoned for 15 years. Looks like it was owned by parents and the kids never went back to clean out. How should I handle items left in house? It's clearly abandoned, but should I verify that somewhere before I clean it out?
